Adult Hockey Skills is Ottawa's premier trainers of adult beginner hockey players. Our courses offer an excellent springboard for the true beginner to learn the fundamentals of hockey, while also offering a challenge to the novice player looking to ramp up their game.

All courses at Adult Hockey Skills are directed by Mark Cavallin. Mark has a strong hockey background, coaching and playing at various levels. His enthusiasm and passion for teaching the game benefits all players in the course. He's always motivated to help players learn new skills and reach their full potential.

Mark Cavallin Hockey Background

Coaching Bio:
• Current Assistant Coach of Carleton Ravens (Usport) varsity men's hockey team
• Former professional Coach in Europe

Playing Bio:
• Played professional hockey for 13 years including the Canadian National Men’s Team
• Represented Great Britain in 2 IIHF World Championships
• Graduated from Mount Allison University in 1993 and was named male Athlete of the Year in his last year.

Adult Hockey Skills was started in 2007 by John Gleeson, a former junior and university player in the Ottawa area. For seven years, John and his staff have met and developed hundreds of eager and passionate players who have participated in the sessions. In early 2014, Ryan Medel to over from John and had 3 very successful years. His coaching efforts here in Ottawa has earned him a Head Coaching position with the Toronto Varsity Blues men’s team. Ryan will be very successful in Toronto except for when he visits the Carleton Ice House to play the Ravens!
